Frequency of administration: monthly

Active ingredients: imidacloprid (a relative of nicotine) and permethrin (a synthetic insecticide and repellent chemically related to pyrethrins which are derived from the chrysanthemum flower)

Mode of action: spreads throughout the skin after application

  • Imidacloprid: kills fleas on contact by affecting the nervous system
  • Permethrin: kills and repels mosquitoes, flies and ticks

Avoid swimming and bathing after application to increase effectiveness

Wait 24 hours after bathing to apply product

Adverse effects: sedation in sensitive animals, hypersalivation if ingested.  If sedation occurs, wash the pet in dish soap and contact a veterinarian.

Contraindication: puppies less than 7 weeks old and/or less than 2 lb

Precaution: DO NOT USE ON CATS, and do not allow cats to come in contact with the product when wet.  We do not recommend this product for households with both dogs and cats, since some cats come in close contact with or lick and groom dogs which share their household.
