Frontline- Plus Flea & Tick

4 sizes for dogs: less than 22 lb (orange); 23-44 lb (blue); 45-88 lb (purple); 89-132 lb (red) 

Frequency of administration: monthly, may be used more frequently under a veterinarian's direction

Mode of action: spreads via the oils of the skin over the body and into hair follicles

Active ingredients: fipronil & (S)-methoprene      

  • Fipronil: kills fleas, ticks and lice by affecting the nervous system
  • (S)-methoprene: an insect growth regulator that prevents fleas, tick and lice from maturing into adults     

Wait 24 to 48 hours after bathing to apply, to ensure adequate oil levels on skin and hair

Adverse effects: rarely irritation of skin at application site, hypersalivation if ingested orally 

Contraindications: puppies less than 8 weeks of age

Special precaution: do not use on rabbits - can be fatal

Safe for pregnant and nursing animals
