4 sizes for dogs: 2-10 lb (brown), 11-25 lb (green), 26-50 lb (yellow), 51-100 lb (white)

3 sizes for cats: 1.5-6 lb (green), 6-12 lb (yellow), 12-25 lb (white)

Form: flavored tablet

Frequency of administration: monthly

Active ingredient: milbemycin oxime 

Mode of action: inhibits the neurotransmitter GABA in invertebrates leading to paralysis and death of parasites

  • prevents heartworm infection in dogs and cats
  • prevents hookworms and roundworms in dogs and cats
  • prevents whipworms in dogs 

Adverse effects: may cause shock and death in heartworm positive dogs and cats, safe in collie-related breeds at this dosage

 

Contraindications: kittens less than 6 weeks old and/or less than 1.5 lb, pregnant cats, cats and dogs with heartworm infection, puppies less than 4 weeks old and/or less than 2 lb 

Safe in pregnant and nursing dogs
