Full Service Hospital, serving Dogs, Cats and Exotic Pets.
Complete Laboratory Service
To assure accuracy, most of our lab work is run through Antech, a well respected laboratory and results are returned by the next day. When results are needed quickly, blood counts, urinalyses and several chemistries may be run in house.
Radiology
Quality radiographic images are a priority at our clinic. When needed radiographs may be sent to our consulting radiologist for review.
Ultrasound Imaging
We work to keep our ultrasound skill honed for this important imaging mode. We also have access to specialists from the area and from Gainesville when needed for these diagnostic tests.
Pharmacy
Our pharmacy has a wide array of medications and preventatives at reasonable prices. Special medications and unique formulations can be ordered if needed.
Dental Care
Our technicians are skilled at dental prophy (cleaning), and our doctors examine each patient for needed dental care. We are able to perform a variety of dental procedures and will refer you a board certified dental specialist when needed.
Consultations with Specialists
We consult regularly with several area specialists, by phone, e-mail or transfer of cases. We are ready to advise you as to when your pet's needs are best served by a specialist and will help you select the best specialist for your pet.
Hurricane Shelter
Our facility serves as a hurricane shelter for our client's pets. Because the need is greater than our boarding space allows, please discuss this with us before the beginning of hurricane season if you feel that you may need this service.
Wildlife Treatment
We will care for injured wildlife and will try to place them with a qualified rehabilitator. Please call us if you find yourself in possession of an injured wild animal or bird.
By Appointment Scheduling
Our office works primarily by appointment, and we try to keep to our appointment schedule. We will see walk-in (non-appointment) patients but will fit them in as we are able, giving preference to the scheduled appointments. The exception to this policy is emergency visits, which are given preference to all others.
Emergency Care
We will see our client's emergencies during our regular office hours.
We do this because it saves our clients money, and we know our patients' histories.
For After Hours Emergency Care contact the Animal Emergency Clinic, located on 22nd Avenue West of I-275 and East of US 19 (34th St N),
at 727-323-1311.

Ultrasound
– What is it good for?
Ultrasound imaging is the technique of using high frequency
sound waves to penetrate body tissues and produce a picture
of the tissues inside.
Ultrasound is particularly effective at looking inside
solid or fluid filled structures such as those in the
abdomen. This is an area where radiography (x-ray), the
traditional imaging mode, is limited by similarities in
density of adjacent organs.
Having access to both radiography and ultrasound gives
the veterinarian a the ability to image almost all body
areas well. More
